Prayer of Blessing To All Mothers!!!

Today marks the honoring of Mothers in various places across the globe.

Happy Mother's Day To All The Mommies!!!

I'm not sure how many of you have been guilty of making comparisons of your mothers but honestly, i have. I remember when i was in primary, i used to envy my friends who had such a strong and loving relationship with their mothers. They share their thoughts, have series of intimate conversation from boys to dreams and ambitions, and engage in other 'cool & happening' activities together =) Now, those thoughts persist even when i became a christian in secondary. I began to envy my friends who were brought up in a christian home. I thought to myself,"Wow, wouldn't it be a blessing to have my parents guide me in the ways of the Lord, and not only will they assume roles as my earthly parents but as my spiritual parents. Surely then, i'll be a stronger christian today." With hindsight... "Oh, how immature!!" I was form 2 then.

Being more matured now, i realised that those times that i focus on those inevitable aspects about my parents that are disappointing or negative—i catch them in a comparison trap. When you tend to compare & contrast, it often spells out discontentment in your life. We complain about parents, at times we wish that their annoying habits could subside, wishing for the time to unwind to change the course of history, etc. Now, arent we all in fact, imperfect in our ways?? ;)

I've learned to appreciate God's plan for me to be in this big & wonderful family and with a fantastic parents. What God has planned for my parents and i is different from the one He has planned for you and your parents.

Instead of complaining about your mom or wishing that things could be different in your family.. Let's take heed of the Word of God which continuosly remind us to do this, ie to Give Thanks!!!

Cheers All
